 Something about the elections in US:

Like all other countries in the world, the United States of America also has its elections held after every four years. The elections are held in categories that are Federal elections including presidential elections and congressional elections, State elections that include gubernatorial elections and legislative elections, local elections that include mayoral elections for the cities. Every citizen of the United States of America who has registered himself or herself for voting and is eligible for it cast ballots for his liked electors. These electors, then, cast final votes for the election of President and Vice President. These votes are called electoral votes and the votes cast by citizens are known to be popular votes.

US Elections in the Constitution:

 The electors who are designated to cast direct votes for president or vice president are chosen by legislature of each state stating that the federal government does not have the right to choose members of the electoral college. This is stated in the constitution of the United Sates of America’s Article II, Section 1, Clause 2. The US Constitution also states the procedure of votes for electoral college and the electoral college itself under the Article II, Clauses 2 and 4. Other than this, in the twelfth amendment of the constitution which was done by replacing Clause 3 of Article II.

About US Elections, 2016:

US Election, 2016 will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. The elections are being conducted on all federal and state levels for president, vice president, senators, governors and mayors. The presidential elections will be the 58th quadrennial US Elections.

Major Candidates:

The Republican party presidential candidate was selected through Republican primary elections. The person is Mr. Donal Trump who is a reality television personality and a successful businessman of the US. He came up after beating senator of Texas Ted Cruz, Governor of Ohio John Kasich, Senator of Florida Marco Rubio and more other candidates who stood in the elections. Hilary Clintons holds the honour of being the first ever lady to stand in presidential election in the history of United States. She came up for the US Elections, 2016 after beating senator of Vermont Bernie Sanders. Note that Hilary Clinton belong to Democratic party. It is also note-worthy that Ms. Clinton has been senator of New York, Former Secretary of State and is wife of 42nd president of the United States of America, Mr. William Jefferson Clinton a.k.a Bill Clinton. The candidate who wins the US Elections, 2016 will become the 45th President of the United States of America.

Not only this, but the US elections, 2016 for the selection of governors of twelve states out of fifty and two territories will also be held though major part of the elections will be held on afore mentioned date/day. The cities in which the mayoral elections will be taking place are Baltimore of Maryland, Honolulu of Hawaii, Milwaukee of Wisconsin, Portland of Oregon, Sacramento of California, San Diego of California.
